To develop a machine that will perform a high accuracy placement of a component in a precision hole.

Rothgreaves solution

RothGreaves designed and manufactured an automated system on a SmartBase platform that used a camera for vision guided motion to align and place a small part into a close tolerance bore. The system also provided precise measurement data via camera inspection. The positional accuracy was within 0.0003″ for the mechanical actuators.
